Assistant Accessories Designer

We are currently looking for an Assistant Accessories Designer to join our team at Orla Kiely, assisting the Senior Accessories designer on our range of printed/laminated bags, nylon, and some leather groups, luggage, and various other accessories based projects.

This includes sourcing new fabrics, webbings, trims, designing new styles within the ranges, instructing and liaising with factories on all design/sourcing/lab dips/hardware and sampling aspects, and seeing these designs through to production.

We work on 4 seasons a year, and work closely with the print team to develop new prints for the laminate bags, so if you have an interest in colour/print that is a bonus.

Managing tight deadlines, and ensuring all components come together to make samples on time.

We are still a fairly small team and we all chip in to help with various other areas including managing the samples, lookbook shoots, LFW shows etc.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic and willing, who can help identify new areas within our ranges, to help bring newness and creativity to the collections. We need someone with initiative, who is practical, extremely thorough and organized, with attention to detail and clear communication skills; someone who loves the technical challenge and construction problem solving to back up their creative ideas.

This role would suit a recent graduate, with a degree or equivalent in fashion design, accessories design or 1-3 years of industry experience in this field. Experience in Illustrator a must.

Salary depending on experience.
